I’ve worked in the field of education research, policy, and evaluation for over 20 years, including ten years in a research faculty position at Loyola University Chicago’s Center for Science and Math Education.

With a doctorate in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, I have experience with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methods.

I have worked with nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, school districts, colleges and universities, and informal education providers, and I have led numerous evaluation projects from inception to dissemination.

My approach to evaluation emphasizes formative, mixed methods and employs techniques such as Design Based Implementation Research and Improvement Science.

Currently, the majority of my work is with federally funded education initiatives aimed at broadening participation in STEM fields.

As the External Evaluator of record on six National Science Foundation CSforAll grants—all of which have followed the model of the Research Practice Partnership (RPP)—I have gained considerable experience in facilitating teams in their work to bridge the gap between research and practice in education.
